Thomas Davis v Lissummon

Thomas Davis under 6's were in action last Wednesday at home against Lissummon. There were some fine individual performances from Tiernan Rogers, Calum Patterson, Dylan Mooney, Logan Weir, David Loye Calum Curran and Calum Curran who hit some great scores on the evening. This was a great run out for the team to practice & improve their skills. Thanks to the Lissummon club & mentors for a good sporting game.

Peil Faoi 8 / Under 8 Football

Thomas Davis v Lissummon

Thomas Davis under 8's were in league action last Wednesday at home against Lissummon. Danny O'Neill opened the scoring for the home team straight from the throw in after fine interplay with Shae Gray. In defence Dearbhla Fearon, Ruby McAteer & Eamonn Loye all worked hard for their team throughout. Conall Havern who started in goals made an impact when switched to midfield with a fine catch and long range score to bring the teams in level at the break. Dylan Gray, Aoife Powell & Kasey Thompson all got crucial scores in the second period in a very even affair between both sides. Thanks to the Lissummon club & mentors for a good sporting game.

Peil Faoi 10 / Under 10 Football

Thomas Davis U-10's made the long journey out to Dorsey on Wednesday night to play the local Emmetts. However it was the home side who played the better football with some good point taking. Ciaran Higgins performed brilliantly in goals for the Newry side and when he came out the field had a great effort at goal go narrowly wide. At full-back Martin McKinley battled for every ball and Adam Travers scored three nice points. Gio Fallone battled hard at full forward. Kaylee Mooney was captain for the night while 7 year old Katie O'Brien made her debut for the U-10's.Luke Fegan played  very well at corner back.

Peil Faoi 14 / Under 14 Football

Clann Eireann v Thomas Davis u14s

The restructuring of the league saw Thomas Davis u14s take on the Lurgan side away from home and after a great start from Captain Jonjo Cranney, who scored a goal and a point in the first ten minutes, it was the last score of the half, as eventually the home side took control of the game. The Lurgan side scored 7 points without reply and ended the half 1-8 to 1-1 ahead.

However after some realisations at half time and a few positional changes, the Newry side got to grips with this contest. Sean Dowdall was pushed into half forward and began to create space for himself, scoring the first goal of the half, before young Michael Mallon floated over a wonderful point. The Captain added another, before Sean Dowdall ripped the goal open in the final moments to put the Corrinshego team ahead by a point.  Unfortunately the Clann Eireann boys had enough time left to level it with the last kick of the game, but this was a much needed point by the Thomas Davis boys and a super comeback.

Peil Faoi 16 / Under 16 Football

Eire Og v Thomas Davis u16s

The second game since the restructuring of the u16 league saw Thomas Davis u16s take on the Lurgan side away from home. After a horrid defeat to Derrynoose the week before, the team finally put their full concentration into playing football.

The Thomas Davis coaches set the half forward and full forward line the task of getting more scores as they had been relying on their captain Conor Jennings too much lately. The boys answered this call with Brendan McLoughlin, Ryan Gray and Jonjo Cranney all getting on the scoreboard in the opening 15 minutes. In fact Brendan McLoughlin had his best game of the season by some distance with 5 points and a cracking goal towards the end of the first half. With Eire Og only able to score 1-1 in the first half, this game was virtually over by half time.

The second half saw the boys continue where they left off, however defensively they lost concentration and conceded too many goals. It was however the form of full forward Karl Treanor that continuously allowed the team to set up chance after chance. Karl was always out in front of his marker and showed a lack of selfishness by time and again setting up his team mates, like Ryan Gray (2-4), to take score after score. Before finally bursting the back of the net twice himself. Well done boys.
