Losing start for new Killeavy boss McDonnell

Armagh Under 21 manager Stephen McDonnell

Steven McDonnell's first game in charge of his beloved Killeavy has ended in defeat.

The former Armagh sharpshooter, who resumed his playing career earlier this year, recently replaced Mickey Linden as manager after the Down legend endured a difficult start to the season that saw Killeavy lose their first three Division 1 senior league games to Maghery, Granemore and Annaghmore.

McDonnell, who has managed the Armagh U21s for the past couple of seasons, couldn't prevent a fourth loss as Killeavy succumbed to Ballymacnab on a 0-7 to 3-7 scoreline on Friday night. However, there is still plenty of time for the 2002 All-Ireland winner to turn their season around.
