Kieran McGeeney was disappointed with the manner of the three first half goals Armagh conceded in their McKenna Cup semi-final defeat to Tyrone last night.

PJ Lavery, Shay McGuigan and Sean Cavanagh all breached the Orchard rearguard in the opening half to send Tyrone on their way to a comfortable 3-10 to 1-8 victory before another bumper attendance of 7,552.

"When we look at the goals, they were a comedy of errors," the Armagh manager said in an interview with RTE.

"Okay, you have to give Tyrone credit for the way they finished them, but when you kick the ball straight to the corner forward and leave your defence wide open after losing possession, then there's much you have to worry about."

McGeeney is keen to finalise his squad before Armagh begin life in Division 3 of the Allianz League against Tipperary on the weekend after next.

"I think in the four games we had a look at over 30 players. Against Tyrone, Michael McKenna (centre half forward) put in a good shift in the second half. Sean Connell and Ciaran O'Hanlon also did well when they came on. We tried out Jamie Clarke at full back. The requirement now is to get a settled squad," he added.
