Former Monaghan football star Rory Woods has taken his first step into management with Armagh club side Clady.

Woods, who is a nephew of Monaghan legend 'Nudie' Hughes, played his last game for Donaghmoyne last weekend when he helped them to secure promotion to the senior ranks for next year in the Farney County. He was a regular in the Monaghan attack up until 2010 before lining out for New York in the Connacht SFC.

Clady are hoping Woods' appointment will give them a much-needed lift after they suffered heavy defeats to Cullyhanna's second team and Ballyhegan in this year's Armagh JFC.
