Thomas Davis GFC club notes

Cruinniú Cinn Bhliana / Annual General Meeting 2014
On Sunday 23rd November Thomas Davis Corrinshego held their AGM in the Club rooms before their club membership. The Annual General Meeting began with out-going Chairperson, Anthony Havern giving a positive and detailed account in his Chairman's address.
This was followed by a comprehensive Development Report by Development Officer Gerry O'Reilly who outlined the ambitious plans for the year ahead with our new development. Gerry informed the members present that the new field will be playable in 2015.
Treasurer Frank Harvey gave a detailed and professional Treasurer's Report highlighting the many cost associated with running so many teams and the revenue which came from the many fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
Gerald O'Reilly gave an in-dept Coaching Report giving special emphasis to both the continued success of the Ladies Football teams and the wonderful achievement of the U-16's winnng the U-16 Grade 3 County title. County Board delegate and Trustee Liam Mullen gave a short but highly relevant Trustee's report, pointing out that long- serving Trustee Teddy Trainor stood down due to ill health. Liam praised Teddy for his enormous contribution over the years. Liam also informed those present that both Anthony Havern and David O'Brien have been appointed as Trustees to Thomas Davis Corrinshego GAC.
Club Secretary David O'Brien then addressed the club members and gave a very comprehensive Secretary's Report covering every aspect of the year gone by with the stand out items being the continued growth of our youth sector most notably our ladies teams but without little doubt the most significant aspect to the 'Corrinshego' story is the continued progression of our new field development. With each passing week another chapter is written in its expansion and development. Under the drive and enthusiasm of Gerry O'Reilly and Anthony Havern, the field is taking shape & will be ready for the new season ahead.
Also on the surface little seems to be happening in West Newry in regards to Culture, but behind the scenes there is a mountain of work going on with the proposed establishment of a new Naiscoil to be fully operation at the new development site for September 2015 & the relocation of Bunscoil an Iúir to the site for September 2016. This level of work was both recognised and appreciated with the awarding of the Ulster Presidents Award for Culture by the Ulster Council.
The 2014 Thomas Davis Committee stood down and election of the new 2015 Committee was presided over by Mr Ewan Morgan, a local Community Representative. The following were elected:-

National Club Draw
Tickets are now being sold for the GAA National Club Draw.  These tickets are £10.00 each but the prizes are amazing.  The National Club Draw is an opportunity for the Club to raise as much money as possible.   The Draw takes place on Friday 27 February 2015.   For further details, terms and conditions see www.gaa.ie/nationalclubdraw .
We are calling upon all our members to embrace this Draw and sell tickets for the Club.  If we all get together and push these tickets we could raise valuable needed funds for the New Year.
Congratulations
Well done to Declan Loye and Keyonis Crozier who played on the St Paul's Team which won the McCormack Cup beating Omagh CBS in the final.   Great achievement for you both.

We are calling upon the local community to encourage young ladies to come join our Ladies Gaelic Football Teams.  Ladies football is thriving in the Club and we are hoping to field at more levels in 2015.  At present winter training is ongoing in Barcroft Community  Centre at 7pm on Friday evenings.  If you or anyone you know is interested please contact Karl Kimmins on 07704025212.

We are calling upon all members of the community to come and join us in the New Year.  2015 will be a historic year for Thomas Davis and we require volunteers.  If anyone is interested in helping us please come forward and contact any member of the Committee.  We received two new committee members at our AGM and one new young volunteer to help with football.  We would like to thank them for coming on board.  Here's hoping there will be a few more before the season starts in 2015.

In 2015 if anyone has any suggestions in relation to the Health and Wellness within the Club please contact Mary O'Reilly or Rebecca Turley and we would be happy to hear your suggestions.  The New Year will of course kick off with the Action Cancer Bus and details will be forthcoming before January in respect of dates and time.
