Shane O'Neills club notes

October 20, 2014

Minor Ladies

Our minor ladies continued their preparation for their upcoming Ulster minor club championship campaign with a very welcome challenge game on Saturday when Bredagh made the trip to Camloch. The game turned out to be exactly what the girls needed with Bredagh still in contention for the Down championship putting up a strong challenge for the Shanes to overcome. After a close first half the Shanes led by a point but an excellent third quarter saw the lead extended to fifteen before Bredagh fought back to reduce the margin to ten points at the end of an entertaining game. Well done to all the players on both sides for a providing a good sporting game in blustery conditions. Many thanks also to Owen Reel who refereed the game and to the mums who made tea and sandwiches for everyone afterwards. Training continues Thursday at 6.00pm.

Ladies Football Meeting

A meeting has been organised for this Tuesday 21st October at 7.30pm in the clubhouse to discuss ladies football and management structures for 2015. We want to get organised as early as possible for next year and anyone who has an interest in any of the ladies teams from U12 up and is willing to help out in any way is welcome to attend. There are many roles to fill from management, coaching, registration, fundraising, transport, kit etc. An agenda is currently been drawn up but we look forward to seeing as many people there as possible, old and new alike, as we plan for next year. A similar type meeting for boy's football will be arranged over the coming weeks.
