Stephen Kernan has regained fitness in time for Crossmaglen's Armagh SFC final showdown with Armagh Harps at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday.

The long-serving attacker is in contention for a starting place after missing the entire championship campaign to date through injury. On the flip side, defender Danny O'Callaghan is ruled out with a knee injury as Cross' go in search of their fifth Gerry Fagan Cup in-a-row and an 18th in 19 years.

"Stephen's back training, he's available for selection," Crossmaglen joint-manager Oisin McConville told the Irish News.

"Danny is the only one who misses out. He's got a knee injury and hopefully he'll be back in the next couple of weeks."

McConville also confirmed that experienced midfielder David McKenna is pushing hard for inclusion after his super-sub show in the semi-final win over St. Patrick's, Cullyhanna.

"He's pressing for a starting spot. He made a serious difference to us when he came off the bench - we won a lot more ball when he came on. He's in contention, he's a valuable player for us," the 2002 All-Ireland winner with Armagh added.
