Armagh have been dealt a second retirement blow in the space of a few days with the news that Brian Mallon is taking his leave from the inter-county scene.

The experienced attacker has decided to follow fellow 2004 All-Ireland U21 winner Aaron Kernan in retirement. Often mistaken as a brother of defender Andy, the Tir na nOg clubman hadn't been a regular in recent seasons, but came off the bench against Meath and Armagh in this year's championship run, scoring two late points against the former.
