Forkhill ladies made history last weekend when they won their first ever piece of silverware after they defeated Mullaghabawn to take the junior county football championship title.

A resounding 2-10 to 1-07 victory meant that the result was never in doubt as a determined and hungrier Forkhill side captured the title in fine style.

Remarkably, the sides had drawn in the championship final five days earlier, but Forkhill made no mistake second time of asking.

The Player of the Match award was actually shared by sisters Megan and Lauren Sheridan who were magnificent as were the rest of the team.
