Wolfe Tones & St Enda's GAC Derrymacash notes

September 15, 2014

Peil/Football
The minor footballers would like to say go raibh maith agat to Deborah Greene from Thomas Moore Interiors, sponsors of our minor football tops, who presented the boys with a new pair of gloves as they prepared for their championship final. A very kind gesture which is greatly appreciated by all of the boys and everyone at the club. Thanks very much Deborah and Thomas Moore's. The minors were in action on Monday evening, with the result not known at the time of going to press.
We ran a very successful Jim Harte Under8 and Under6 blitz on Saturday with twelve Under 8 teams and four Under 6 teams. Belfast Sarsfields beat Ballyhegan in the Under 8 plate final after extra time. Annaclone beat St. Peter's in the Under 8 shield and Clan na Gael beat the Tones 9 points to 7 in the cup final. We would like to congratulate all the winning teams and all who participated on a great day for football. Comhghairdeas leis na foirne a bhain agus leis na páistí uilig. We are all very proud of our Under 8s who came up just short in the second half of the cup final game. Go raibh maith agat to the Harte family, all of our referees (Ryan McQuillan, Chris McCarron, Dominic McGeown, Tiernan Geddis, Odhran Magee & Christopher McAlinden) who done an excellent job, Paddy Tighe and all our parents for their support. Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh siad. Praise the youth & they will flourish.
Well done to our Under 10s who, after an unbeaten run in the group stages, beat St Paul's in the semis and Clann Éireann in the final, to be eventual winners of the Jim Moore cup at Saturday's St Peter's tournament. Maith sibh a pháistí.
Comhghairdeas to Patsy Magee, Aoife Kane and the Clann Éireann ladies team, who won the Armagh senior championship on Saturday evening after a 2-15 to 2-11 win over Carrickcruppen. Well done Patsy and Aoife.
Camógaíocht/Camogie
We would like to wish the very best of luck to Caley Scullion, who unfortunately broke her leg last week. All the best from all your team mates and mentors from the underage camógs. Go raibh biseach ort go luath, Caley. Get well soon.
