Camógaíocht/Camogie
All roads lead to Ballycrummy this Sunday as our senior camogs line out against Middletown at 2.45pm in the Armagh Intermediate Camogie final. This is the girls' second county final in two years, having won the junior title last year and making the step up to the intermediate grade. The girls have worked extremely hard all year under the guidance of Tom Monaghan and reached the decided following a tense finish against Doire Núis. All support would be welcome and appreciated by the girls on Sunday and we would like to wish them the very best of luck on Sunday. Ádh mór oraibh a chailíní.
Hard luck to our Under 12 camogs, who were beaten by Mullaghbane during the week, on a score of two goals to one.
Rith speisialta/10k & 5k run & 5k walk
We had a fantastic day at the club on Sunday as we hosted our annual 10k and 5k run and family walk in the August sunshine. Bhí lá den chéad scoth againn. We would like to thank Patsy Magee, Owen Crilly and Anna McMorrow and everyone who helped to organise the run. Go raibh míle maith agat to all of our marshalls on the day and to those who helped with registration and refreshments afterwards. We would like to thank our three sponsors Celebrations Event Videos, The Corner House and Salon Select for their generous support. Go raibh míle maith agaibh as bhur dtacaíocht leanúnach. Thank you to everyone who took part in the run and walk and contributed to a great day for our club. The 10K run was won by Conor Magill in a time of 34:12, followed in second place by Barry Atkinson who finished in 35:00. The prizes for the female 10K went to Eileen Stevenson who finished first in 43:23 and Nuala Lemon who finished second in 46:08. The 5K prizes went to Peter Murray and Caolán Atkinson for males and Kate Mulholland and Bernie McCarron for females. Maith sibh uilig a ghlac páirt. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you for supporting our club.

Peil/Football
The senior footballers entered the championship qualifiers against Clan na Gael on Saturday night minus a number of players who had picked up concussion injuries in the first round defeat to Clann Éireann. The game got off to a nightmare start with the Lurgan side hitting a goal after just 16 seconds and adding a second five minutes later to leave them 2-2 to 0-0 up. The controversy of the inconsistent application of the black card was highlighted early on when two absolutely identical tackles led to a black card for the Tones and just a yellow for the Clans, although this had no effect on the outcome of the game. Although the Tones did notch a few scores in the first half, a blitz of scores from Armagh star Stefan Campbell put the Clans further in front at half time 2-8 to 0-5. Unfortunately, the expected backlash from the Tones men in the second half didn't materialise and Clan na Gael hit a further three scores. One positive from the game was the introduction of Caolán Farrell who hit a great point on his senior debut, Caolán McCaughley and Connell O'Hagan. The final score was Clan na Gael 2-13 Tones 0-9.
Our minor footballers are due to play St Brigid's in the league on Monday 1 September in Poyntzpass. The Under 16 footballers bowed out of the Shield competition after a home defeat to Killeavy on a scoreline of 4-8 to 1-5. Doire Emmets Under 14s have a home game this Tuesday 26 August against Naomh Eoin.
Our Under 10 footballers played two seven-a-side games over three thirds on Sunday morning against Tír na nÓg. One team included established Under 10s and the other team included five Under 8s (Sean Gallagher, Eoin Miller, John McAlinden, Fionn Kelly & Mark Farragher) who were making their debut at the higher age level. There were two very tight games with a strong Tír na nÓg team edging the game between the older teams & the Tones edging the game beween the younger teams. Well done to all the Under 10 lads & in particular the Under 8s who were all excellent. The future looks very promising. Tá todhchaí gheal romhainn. The lads' behaviour and the way they represented our club was exemplary. Maith sibh a pháistí.
