Wolfe Tones & St Enda's GAC Derrymacash notes

August 18, 2014
Camógaíocht/Camogie
Congratulations to our senior camogie team who showed great determination and grit to claim a place in the final of the Armagh Intermediate championship. Despite going in to the game against Derrynoose with a long list of injuries, the girls performed heroically to win through on a scoreline of 4-6 to 2-9. The girls will go on to play Middletown in the final on 31 August with the venue yet to be decided. Maith sibh a chailíní agus ádh mór oraibh sa Chraobh Cheannais. Well done girls and the very best of luck in the County Final.
We would like to wish the very best to senior camogie player Emma Ní Mhaoilsté who heads out this week to Philadelphia for a year at Neuman University. Bíodh am ar dóigh agat agus tú amuigh ann a Emma. We hope you have a great time in Philly.

Peil/Football
The senior footballers took on Clann Éireann in the first round of the Intermediate football championship on Friday evening. Unfortunately, the boys couldn't reproduce the fortunes of the senior camogs and suffered a heavy loss on a scoreline of 3-15 to 2-4. They will have an opportunity to avenge the defeat when they face Clan na Gael this weekend. At the time of going to press, there were no details of date, time or venue. Ádh mór orthu sa chluiche cúldorais. We wish them good luck for the qualifier. Well done to the minor footballers who beat Doire Núis by two points in the Division Three Championship last week. Our U10 footballers attended the St Paul's tournament on Saturday morning and after an unbeaten run in the group stages, proceeded to beat Madden in the quarter finals of the cup competition. Next up was Tír na nÓg and after a very close match, the Tones scored a late equaliser to take the game to extra time. Tír na nÓg won the game with a point scored with the last kick of the ball to leave our lads devastated, but we are very proud of their efforts. Maith sibh a pháistí. Well done. Our Under 6 footballers were also in action at the weekend when they showed fantastic skill against St Peter's. Maith sibh a pháistí.
Wolfe Tones and St Enda's would like to say a big go raibh maith agat to Paul Grimley who stepped down as manager of the Ard Mhacha senior footballers last week.
Campa samhraidh/Summer camp
We had a fantastic week at the club for our summer camp which took place between Tuesday and Friday last week. We would like to pay tribute to all of our football and camogie coaches who helped out during the week and to Kyle Magee from Seán Treacy's Hurling Club. Go raibh míle maith agat to Finnian Moriarty and to Margaret McCorry who organised this year's summer camp, which proved to be the biggest yet with 110 children taking part. Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí. Praise the youth and they will flourish.
Crannchur/Lotto
Last week's lotto numbers were 9, 11, 17 and 23. There was no jackpot winner and a total of 13 match 3 winners. This week's jackpot is £4950.
