McCorry focused on Kilcoo
August 08, 2014
Kilcoo manager Jim McCorry is just focused on the club championship, despite being linked to the Down manager's position.
The Armagh native is just one of a list of candidates being touted to take over from James McCartan who stood down from the position last month.
McCorry lead Kilcoo to the Down county title last year and his main focus is to defend their crown in 2014.
"It's not something that I have given any thought to, to be honest, because we are in full championship preparation mode with Kilcoo," McCorry tells the Mourne Observer.
I did not know that James was actually planning to stand down. Last year a lot of people were saying it might be James' last year but I just thought it was the same pattern and that he was taking a bit of a break and a well-deserved break.
"It really is a full time job for anybody to do and James has worked very hard with the squad. He has brought in a lot of new players and, in my view, he has been very, very unlucky not to have got some major silverware during his tenure."
