Wolfe Tone & St. Enda's, Derrymacash club notes

July 28, 2014
Campa samhraidh/Summer camp
This year's football and camogie summer camp will take place at the club between Tuesday 12 August and Friday 15 August. Application forms are available from team mentors or you can contact Margaret McCorry for more information.
Peil/Football
The senior footballers hosted Lissummon on Friday evening and will be content to come away with another two league points. The opening period saw the sides trade points and a John Toal free saw the Tones edge in front after 25 minutes. However, the Tones finished the half very strongly and made amends for a couple of missed goal chances when Ruairí McCaughley rifled the ball to the net to give the hosts a 1-6 to 0-4 half time lead. The Tones were quickest off the mark in the second half with three quick points, but the visitors responded with three of their own. Points were traded before the Derrymacash men pushed ahead again with a further three points. Lissummon, to their credit, never gave up and finished strongly with two points either side of a Connell O'Hagan point. Final score Tones 1-14 Lissummon 0-12.
Well done to our Under 12 footballers who beat Maghery on Saturday 7-04 to 4-05. Our Under 10s had two convincing wins against Sarsfields on Sunday and our Under 8s also had good wins against both Sarsfields teams on Saturday morning. Maith sibh a pháistí. Well done boys and girls.
Good luck to Finnian Moriarty and the Armagh senior footballers in the All-Ireland qualifiers against An Mhí. There will be plenty of Derrymacash support in Páirc an Chrócaigh on Saturday, with our underage footballers making a trip down to support Ard Mhacha. Best wishes also to Caolán McCaughley and the Armagh minor footballers who play Maigh Eo in the All-Ireland Quarter final on Sunday in Croke Park. Ádh mór ar Chaolán, ar Fhinnian agus ar Ard Mhacha. Good luck to the two boys and to the Armagh teams. Ard Mhacha abú.

Camógaíocht/Camogie
Well done to our senior camogie team who had a good win away from home against Derrynoose on Wednesday evening in the league. Maith sibh a chailíní. Well done also to our Under 12 camogs who beat An Port Mór five goals to one on Saturday.
