Carlow celebrate camogie success

The Carlow girls were celebrating All-Ireland Minor 'C' camogie success with a five-star, five-goal performance against Armagh last weekend.

The Orchard County were despatched on a 5-10 to 1-12 scoreline at the grounds of the Donaghmore/Ashbourne club in Co Meath.

Eleanor Treacy from the Ballinkillen club was to the fore with 2-2 from play, while Ballinkillen clubmate Margaret Murphy, Lorraine Bible from Mount Leinster Rangers and substitute Rebecca O'Dwyer also rattled the net for the victors.

Laura Smith got the goal for the vanquished Armagh girls.

Centre half back Michelle Kelly from Mount Leinster captained the Carlow side and was presented with the spoils by Joan O'Flynn, the President of the Camogie Association.
