Armagh's Aimee Mackin is LGFA Player of the Month for March

In Armagh's Lidl National League fixtures against Tyrone, Clare and Kerry in March, Aimee scored a combined total of 3-23. Armagh forward Aimee Mackin has been honoured with The Croke Park/LGFA Player of the Month award for March.

Mackin, 21, from the Shane O’Neill’s club, is the first recipient of the monthly award for 2019.

She produced some sparkling displays during the month of March and Armagh have comfortably progressed to the Division 2 semi-finals in the Lidl Ladies National Football League.

Armagh played three of their group fixtures in March and Aimee, a two-time TG4 All Star from 2015 and 2017, scored a combined total of 3-23 against Tyrone, Clare and Kerry.

Mackin collected 1-5 against Ulster rivals Tyrone, 1-7 in the Clare game and 1-9 in the Kerry fixture.

Mackin was also superb for her college Ulster University Jordanstown in their march to the Gourmet Food Parlour Giles Cup title.

In the GFP Giles Cup Final victory over Waterford IT at TU Grangegorman, Mackin scored 2-11 of UUJ’s 2-17 as they claimed the win.

Armagh will learn the identify of their Division 2 semi-final opponents next Sunday, with the meeting of Cavan and Kerry set to determine the final placings in the top four.
