Andrew Murnin hopes to be fit for Armagh's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Down on May 19.

The full forward is recovering from tendinopathy in both knees, having not featured for the Orchard County since last summer's All-Ireland qualifier fourth round exit at the hands of Roscommon.

"It's been going on since last year so I need to get it sorted out," the St Paul's clubman told the Irish News.

"I'm hoping to be back for the first round of the championship and I'm on track for that at the minute."

Murnin has been keeping a close eye on his Armagh's team-mates in the Allianz League and believes they have the firepower to retain their Division 2 status.

"We have more than enough men to do my job so I think we will be grand," he added.
