Shane McConville is looking forward to getting down to work with Pearse Og after parting company with Maghery.
McConville led the Sean MacDermotts to Armagh SFC glory in 2016, but will take up a new challenge with the Armagh city outfit in 2019.
"I think that there is a lot of quality within this Pearse Og squad, and the acid test for me and my management team will be to try and get the best out of them," he told the Belfast Telegraph.
"I honestly think that the team has underperformed in recent years, but if the players can attain a higher level of fitness, better cohesion and show even greater commitment then I believe that anything is possible.
"I am looking forward to the challenge of trying to improve the team's fortunes. Pearse Og have a big club outlook and I like that. I know whatever it takes to achieve success will be done and this gives me great encouragement."
