Simon Doherty can't lose when Armagh play Ulster University in the McGurk Cup on Saturday (2.00pm at UU), because he will be playing for Armagh and he manages UU! 

"It’s an absolutely brilliant competition," says Simon. "It’s perfect preparation for counties and universities, so there are clashes but I won’t be neutral in this game!"

Named after former Queens and St John’s player Conor McGurk, and involving kids from Carryduff, the competition is in its fifth year and is hosted by Queens but also includes UU, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Down and Armagh. The Final is on January 12.
