Former Armagh goalkeeper Paul Hearty came out of retirement to help Crossmaglen Rangers to victory yesterday.

He answered an SOS after Cross' two senior goalkeepers were both injured, but stressed afterwards that his appearance in the 4-18 to 1-10 Senior League Division 1A win over county champions Armagh Harps was a one-off.

Hearty announced his retirement from club football last October after a glittering career which saw him win All-Ireland, Ulster and Allianz League honours with Armagh as well as a staggering 19 Armagh SFC medals, 11 Ulster titles and six All-Ireland club crowns with Crossmaglen.
