More fixture chaos looms as 'Beast from the East' approaches

There could be further disruption to GAA fixtures next weekend as the country braces itself for its coldest weather since 2010.

A Siberian front - nicknamed the 'Beast from the East' - is expected to see temperatures plummet to -9C in the coming days, with snow showers predicted from Tuesday onwards, particularly in the east and south-east.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for exceptionally cold weather until next Friday, which is threatening to leave pitches either frozen or flooded ahead of another packed weekend of Allianz Football and Hurling League action.
