Mayo selector Tony McEntee has been issued with a proposed two-month suspension following his part in last weekend's bad-tempered league clash with Galway in Salthill.

As the teams became embroiled in a series of unsavoury brawls during the fourth quarter of the all-Connacht Division One encounter, former Armagh and Crossmaglen player McEntee entered the field of play and allegedly became involved in the pushing and shoving.

According to The Irish Independent, he now faces a two-month suspension, although he is entitled to a hearing in relation to the charge of misconduct by a match official.

Mayo and Galway County Boards have also been fined €4,000 following an investigation into events at Pearse Stadium on Sunday, where Galway's Paul Conroy and Mayo siblings Cillian and Diarmuid O'Connor were sent off.
