Loughgiel in AIB club championship.
Any thought's now with just under a week to go if Loughgiel can win? Was doing a bit of checking on Na Pairsaigh and they are quite the outfit. They are big men with plenty of skill. Loughgiel have you ever sorted out a midfield and a corner back yet?

Antrim drag a positive from a negative!!
Great result - Will be interesting to see how we do this year in a competitive Division 3. All 8 teams have a fair shot.

Good luck against Tipp.

Didn't make the game was there a big crowd?

Not disputing that DearyMe but that's not the view you would get from reading Lenny's statement or Galled's post on this thread.

Will if St Galls are struggling for finance impact on who or how much they can pay a manager - not a good sign that they are advertising in the Irish News to fill the post considering the vast amount of people from within that could do the job for nothing.

Hear St Pauls may also be having a bit of difficulty in finding a manager ? what happened to the boys that took them up last year ? Thats right one of them has been signed by St Johns.

Galled I heard he'd lost the changing room so maybe the backing of the committee wasn't the only reason he stepped down.

Transfers for 2012
What is the exact rule that stops a juvenile transfering within Antrim ? Is it water tight or can a transfer be forced through ?

Football Club Managers for 2012
As someone who has known Lenny for years I know he is a Galls man through and through. He is also very focused and sets high standards, as he did when he was a player. I would like to thank him for taking us to our first All-Ireland club championship and into the history books, no one can take this away from Lenny and a great bunch of players.
St Galls, like a lot of clubs is strapped for cash. No one can depend on income from their social club any more. So the finances have not been there for any of our teams. However there is other support a committee needs to offer its managers. I hope our committee takes some time out to assess if and when they have failed in that support and how we can put this right in the future.

Tonights result could very well have went the other way. Some great work from Tomás McCann ensured we get one over on the not so old enemy. We were lucky but produced a great last 15mins. Hopefully the wild passing and pumping balls forward blindly wont appear in Tipp. Onwards and upwards

Read the article myself ,sounds to me that the club are struggling for finances like every other club and could not afford the whole package for the Ulster campaign ,maybe a bit of sympathy for the manager but you have to cut your cloth these days ,its a lot easier to spend than it is to raise it,,

Football Club Managers for 2012
Just read the Lenny article there myself. "After three highly successful years", there's no doubting the achievement in 2010 season but would a club who has won the county championship 10 out of the last 11 years still consider a county championship win as a "highly successful" season?

Think I could have managed that St Galls team to the last two county championship titles, so maybe a shake up was required if they want to try and progress further, again.

Transfers for 2012
Is the Armagh hurling keeper not transferring to St Johns?

Promotion / relegation from div 2 football this year
With the strong word that Magill will transfer to St Johns this year it looks like Tir na og will struggle to stay in div2.

Transfers for 2012
just to put the record staright. Michael Magill is still a Tir-na-nOg Man. His transfers like most are only rumours and wishful thinking.

Shumossy , 02/02/2012 at 15:37

Transfers for 2012
Eamon Blaney a big plus for the johnnies, i think locky mccurdy is with him. Magill will really boost their forward line, super player when he is up for it. Think Frank Hasson is a selector with Rasharkin but i see they have paddy kelly back in the fold as coach, saw him take a coaching session years ago with UUJ, thought it was one of the best sessions i'd ever seen, well before his time, think he went to rugby after that so a definate plus for the sharks, but they still have no mission of staying in div1 having to play all their games away.

Sherlockgael , 02/02/2012 at 15:35

Transfers for 2012
Biggest plus for St Johns may be Eamon Blaney as manager.

Paddy Graffin hasn't managed Ahoghill since a few years back - think they still have same management as last few years.
