Ulster Council president Martin McAviney says his body are awaiting referee Joe McQuillan's report before launching their investigation into allegations that a Cargin player was bitten during last Sunday's clash with Crossmaglen.

Cargin midfielder Michael McCann has claimed an opponent came up behind him and bit him on the shoulder during a 36th minute brawl, but this has been strongly refuted by Crossmaglen joint-manager Oisin McConville.

The unsavoury incident overshadowed Cross' eight-point Ulster club SFC quarter-final victory over the Antrim champions at the Athletic Grounds.
