Antrim hurling captain Neil McManus has been ruled out of action for two months by a knee injury.

The Cushendall clubman had to be substituted 51 minutes into last weekend's heavy defeat to Westmeath and subsequent scans have shown that he sustained a medial ligament tear.

The Glensmen will also be without Arron Graffin for the rest of the year: the Ruairi Og ace is out for five months after dislocating his kneecap against the Lake County.

The double blow represents a major setback to Antrim manager Kevin Ryan ahead of Sunday's crunch Leinster championship round-robin group clash with Carlow at Dr Cullen Park, where defeat would push the Saffrons close to relegation to Christy Ring Cup status.
