Captain Neil McManus has backed Antrim hurling manager Kevin Ryan, insisting he is "the best man" to bring the Glensmen forward.
The Saffrons suffered relegation to Division 2A at the weekend but McManus has leapt to the defence of his manager.
"I know that it's not in Kevin's nature to walk away," McManus told The Irish News. "He is committed to us and we are committed to him. We have the best man available to us. I would say he has 100% of the changing room - nothing else.
"We couldn't have more respect and regard for Kevin Ryan. I don't know any manager that puts the work that he puts in. We've all been speaking to each other after Saturday's defeat and the problem lies with our performances.
"Kevin had everything in place. It was up to us last Saturday and we, as a group of players, didn't play well enough to remain in Division 1B. As a group of players we have to stand up and acknowledge that.. We're all men. Are we good enough for 1B? I believe we are but we haven't played well enough and we're now paying the price for that.
"Kevin Ryan is absolutely top class. That's the truth of the matter. We have no problem shouldering the blame."
