Limerick pulled away in the end to record an eight-point victory over Antrim at Ballycastle, 0-23 to 1-12.

The margin was just a single point at the three-quarters stage but TJ Ryan's men reeled off the last seven points of the match to ensure that their long trip north was not in vain.

There was nothing between the teams in the first half and the visitors led by the odd point from 19 at the short whistle, with Paul Shiels on target five times for the gallant losers before the break.

Paul Browne's second point separated the sides at the interval.

Eoghan Campbell got the Antrim goal in the second minute of the second half after good play by Ciaran Clarke.

That score only served to spark the Shannonsiders to life, however, and they fired over a succession of points in the final quarter to run out comfortable victors.

Three late Shane Dowling frees provided the icing on the cake for the Munster men, who have now garnered three points from a possible four while the Glensmen remain pointless after two rounds.
