Cavan amalgamation St Joseph's have both reached the semi-finals of the 2015 Bank of Ireland Ulster Under-21 Club Football Tournament and defended their right to take part in the competition.

Some have questioned the Breffni county for joining forces in both the Ulster Minor Club Tournament, where Southern Gaels reached the Final, and in the U-21 equivalent, but St Joseph's Man of the Match Ryan Connolly points to the positives.

'It all depends on numbers. We are from three small parishes (Arva, Drumlane and Killeshandra) and my own club wouldn't have the numbers. This makes Cavan a lot more competitive'.

Manager Raymond Brady was delighted to have the opportunity to play on the Ulster stage and to beat Cullyhanna from Armagh (3-7 to 2-9). 'We only had a panel of 19 players here today. It (the amalgamation) helps players to play Division 1'.
