Stephen Hunt's claim that GAA players would struggle in the Premier League has sparked an angry reaction from current and past footballers and hurlers.

In yesterday's Sunday Independent, the Ipswich Town and Republic of Ireland star wrote: "As somebody who grew up in the GAA, I can tell you that, as much as I love the games, if GAA players tried to live with the level of commitment shown by a professional footballer, they wouldn't know what hit them."

Hunt was responding to Joe Brolly's recent claim that soccer players are not role models for young people.

Unsurprisingly, Hunt's comments haven't gone down well in GAA circles and here is just a selection of the tweets directed at the former Waterford underage hurler.
