- Ulster Senior Hurling Final: Portaferry v Cushendall on Sunday 2nd November in Owenbeg at 2-30pm. Thanks to all the support so far, it makes a massive difference. Hope to see and hear all the great support in the final, the squad want and deserve this. Thanks in advance. Best wishes to the Senior squad and management, they have worked hard all season. Give everything that you have. Up the Ports.

-  2 years ago when the Senior Hurling team progressed into the Ulster Series, we put up a lot of blue and gold around the town. The town already has quite a bit up, but let's have it full of blue and gold.  Let's be proud of our club, players and town. Thanks in advance. Club flags now available:  Small hand flags 24inch by 18inch - chequered - £4.  Large 5ft x 3ft - both chequered and plain 2 stripe - £8.  Small number of club beanie hats also available - £8.

- Big Breakfast:  will be held on Saturday 1st November at 10-30am in the clubhouse. It's a great way of coming out and wishing the players all the best. Donations welcome, this is to fund the senior hurlers.

- Ulster GAA Writers Award: Congrats to Niamh Mallon who has been nominated for Camogie Player of the year 2014. The banquet will be held on Saturday 1st November in Bundoran. Good luck Niamh, from all at Portaferry GAC.

- Rivalries from the 1990'S revisited: the Charity match that was held on Sunday 30th March for Friends of the Cancer Centre raised a massive and brilliant amount of £10,076.00. Big well done to all involved and especially to all the organisers. It is hoped a return match will be played in antrim next year.

- Scor na nOg: is on Sunday 2nd and 9th November. It has been a while since we have entered anyone into this. We have a lot of talent in our club, musicians, singers, dancers etc. So why not show the county what we have. Anyone interested contact Gerard McGrattan

- Best wishes to Peter Mason and Gareth O'Neill who recently went through knee operations. Good luck with the rehab lads, work hard and get back next year.

- Annual Dinner Dance is on Saturday 29/11/2014. Numbers will be limited, first  come first served basis. More details of this to follow.

- Photos: if anyone has any photos of blue and gold that they would like shown on the Club facebook, email to [email protected]
