Goals in either half from Karl McKeegan and Neil McManus (penalty) saw Cushendall past Slaughtneil in today's Ulster club SHC semi-final replay at Loughgiel.

Extra-time couldn't separate the sides a fortnight ago, but this time 'Sambo' McNaughton's charges had the upperhand as they set up a final showdown with Down champions Portaferry.

Slaughtneil, who clinched a famous Derry SFC and SHC double last weekend, took an early lead through Oisin O'Doherty, but Cushendall replied with three McManus frees and a McKeegan point to lead by 0-4 to 0-1 after 14 minutes.

Scores from Brendan Rogers and Gareth O'Kane reduced the deficit to the minimum before McKeegan struck the 'Dall's first goal to give them a 1-4 to 0-3 lead at the interval.

Slaughtneil outscored their opponents 0-3 to 0-1 on the restart, but their comeback was ended when McManus netted a 39th minute penalty. Points from Cormac O'Doherty and Cormac McKenna reduced the arrears to four with six minutes remaining, but two late scores from substitute Paddy McGill sealed it for the Antrim champions.
