Anto delighted that Dubs are coming to Belfast

October 02, 2014

At the launch were Armagh's Aaron Findon and Monaghan's Rory Beggan with Anto Finnegan and Dublin manager Jim Gavin

Anto Finnegan has revealed how Dublin manager Jim Gavin immediately accepted an invitation to play in next month's historic #GameForAnto against an Ulster selection at Ravenhill.

Proceeds from the charity game at the home of Ulster rugby will go towards the former Antrim football captain's deterMND Trust. Anto was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2012 and is determined to raise awareness about the debilitating disease.

"I thought it would have been difficult to get Dublin to come," the 41-year-old admitted in the Irish News.

"The game was during the off season. But as soon as I made contact with Jim he was straight in there. He said: 'Yes, absolutely, we want to be

involved'."
While Dublin are certain to have players involved with the Ireland International Rules squad when the charity game takes place on November 15, Gavin is promising to bring his strongest possible team to Belfast.

"We are really looking forward to playing this game on the 15th of Novmeber. We are going to bring out best team to play the best of Ulster," he vowed.

"We are just delighted to be part of this and we're going to bring a strong team up."
