It's all happening on the Antrim football front today with news of Frank Fitzsimons appointment as senior football manager following hot on the heels of Liam Bradley's decision to quit the Saffrons.

The current Lamh Dhearg manager, Fitzsimons has received the green light from the three-man interview committee of chairman Jim Murray and Colm McKenna (Lamh Dhearg) and Sean Fleming (Rossa).

He will make the step up from the county's U-21s in 2015.

Earlier in the day, Liam Bradley had confirmed that his second stint as manager had come to an end after less than a year.

'Baker' was unhappy that Antrim had sought club nominations for the post of manager for 2015.

"About five weeks ago I spoke with the Antrim chairman [Jim Murray] and we had arranged to have a meeting to review the year gone by," he told Gaelic Life.

"Then I read an article in the press a week later stating that the county board were to seek nominations for the post of senior manager.

"To me, that is a vote of 'no confidence,' and has left me with no option but to stand down from my position as Antrim senior manager."

County chairman Jim Murray said: "We have reluctantly accepted the resignation and we place on record our thanks for all that Liam has done for us."
