Loughgiel's bid for an unprecedented five-in-a-row of Antrim SHC titles was dashed by Cushendall in yesterday's quarter-final at Ballycastle.

Goal in either half from Paddy McGill and Christy McNaughton proved decisive as the 'Dall prevailed on a 2-12 to 0-12 scoreline against the 2012 All-Ireland club champions.

Former kingpins Dunloy overcame Ballycastle in Loughgiel, despite conceding three second half goals. With Paul Shiels in unerring form, they led by 0-9 to 0-3 at the break, but were left hanging on at the end after Saul McCaughan, Ciaran Clarke and sub Kevin Barry McShane raised green flags for 'Castle.

St. Gall's are also through to the semi-finals after coming from four points down with seven minutes remaining to edge out newcomers Clooney Gaels by 1-16 to 2-12.

The other quarter-final between St. Brigid's and Sarsfields is heading for a replay after the sides drew 1-16 to 2-13.
