Creggan ended a 41-year wait for an Antrim SFC final when seeing off 14-man St Johns by 2-9 to 1-10 at Glenavy yesterday.

The Kickhams will now attempt to end a 64-year wait for the Padraig McNamee Cup in Sunday week's decider against parish rivals Cargin. Managed by former county forward Kevin Madden, a goal from the aptly-named Sam Maguire gave Creggan a four-point cushion at the break, 1-6 to 0-5.

St Johns had the benefit of a stiff breeze in the second-half but their cause wasn't helped by the dismissal of Ciaran Garland on a second yellow card. Substitute Ryan McNulty's 26th minute goal gave St Johns a lifeline after Conor Small (penalty) got the winners second major that saw them over the line.
