Leitrim manager Brendan Guckian admits that the focus has always been on the opening round of the NFL Division Four campaign.

The Connacht side take on Antrim on Sunday week and even though they had the FBD League to contend with, Guckian stressed that from since before Christmas, all the focus has been on the clash with Antrim.

"Our aim is Antrim and from day one, since we got together in October, that was our number one target," Guckian told the Leitrim Observer.

"The FBD League has been very beneficial in getting a look at guys and getting a look at guys in very competitive games against Roscommon, Mayo and Galway, three massively competitive games."

Guckian feels that the county supporters can play a bigger part this year too by supporting the players regardless of what happens.

"I keep saying it, I hope people realise the lads want to do well, they want to make Leitrim people proud. I think they are going in the right direction to make that happen."
