May 02, 2024

Dunderry's Liam Coogan

Dunderry 4-19 Blackhall Gaels 2-15

Daire O Driscoll got the first of 2 opening half goals to start the scoring for Dunderry followed by a brace of points from Liam Coogan and a free from Conor Leavy to leave it 1-3 to no score before Blackhall got off the mark with a point from play.

Mark Leavy popped over 2 from play either side of a blackhall free. Two Conor Leavy frees were answered with two from play from Blackhall. A fine passage of play from which Jordan Martin picked out Liam Coogan who looked up to see O Driscoll free and he duly dispatched to the net. From the puck out Blackhall replied with a goal of their own before Duffy struck over in response. 3 more points from Leavy (2 frees) and 1-2  from placed balls from Blackhall left it  2 -11 for the black and whites and 2-7 for Blackhall at the interval.

The second half started with a Leavy pointed free which was cancelled out from play before Liam Coogan banged in a pair of goals to leave his side leading by 10. He was picked out with pin point passes for both - the first from Mark Leavy and the second from Cian Coogan. The teams trades frees again before Conor Leavy pointed superbly from out on the  sideline after collecting yet another great ball out of defence from Coogan.

Jordan Martin made his presence felt with a surging run down the middle splitting the posts with conviction. Liam Coogan finished his evening off with a 3rd point from play followed up by the 2 more frees from the deadly accurate Leavy.

It finished 4-19 to 2 -15 for a good win on the road for Timber Leavys charges.

Best for the winners were both Coogans, both Leavys, and O'Driscoll.
