Don't think COB will be distracted by a few of us shooting the breeze. But succession planing is never a bad idea, but I get your point, he is doing a good job with u20's and for now maybe that' the priority.

Wasn't aware of this. Certainly wouldn't be opposed to O'Bric doing another year with the under 20's and the development panel to get players ready. But we need more coaching expertise on the senior panel to help those lads ages 21-25 who will be key players on the seniors for the coming years. If we were to go out and lose the 3 group games there would be huge pressure to have O'Bric replace the current management

Went over to watch the 20s train last night, saw Brian o halloran doing ball work and running is he back from injury, he'd be a great addition to bring off the bench against Kerry if he's fit.

Heard O'Halloran has opted against surgery or at least delayed it until after the 20s campaign to give himself a chance of playing vs Kerry.

Why would there be pressure? We're a fourth seeded team playing two division 1 teams ( ok Monaghan relegated) and either Louth or the All Ireland champions. Were starting to sound like premiership supports, get rid of the manager. If we loose all three games it wont have anything to do with O'Rourke. The problem were in at the minute is due to the lack of work years ago and its going to take years of work to get out of it. Back when we won the All Ireland at minor people were getting ahead of themselves and were saying that its great were back. It will take 10 All Irelands before were back. I think Meath clubs need to find their DNA again and really get behind the Meath cause. Clubs aren't even selling the lotto tickets, these are to raise funds for the support structures that are needed, pitches in Dunganny, a new GYM etc. All of these things take time so we need to be patient.

There would be pressure because COR said himself if there was no improvement after 2 years he wouldn't seek to continue and if we were to lose all 3 games it would be very hard to honestly say there has been progress. Louth are not a bad 2 seed for us to draw at all, we beat them in the league and I still fancy we would beat them again. Monaghan relegated from Division 1 and then beaten by Cavan at home. We have pretty much our full team back bar Walsh. Totally get your point re the new gym in Dunganny, also some 4G pitches for winter training wouldn't go amiss. But that doesn't absolve management of all blame. COR did chose to no replace the experience that left his coaching team and our level isn't where it was 3/4 years ago despite a lot of young players coming in who do have the pedigree of Leinster under 17 medals and playing Sigerson for good college teams
