Replying To ThePowerhouse:  "I've been beating the same drum about amalgamations but I don't think the County board are serious about progressing football in this county. Otherwise it would have been done 10 years ago. The writing was on the wall a long time ago but we've continuously buried our heads in the sand.
I suspect that we enjoy playing the role of the plucky loser. We get excited with any bit of national media attention and revert to the excuse of our population when the inevitable happens. Our recent day out in the big smoke is a case in point.

Emigration is certainly a huge problem but you're also dealing with a generation that have the world at their feet and are intent on success. Leitrim GAA is deluding itself in thinking that the pride of pulling on the jersey will suffice for these players."
Exactly, like sorry but what pride is there in pulling on a jersey thats bet out the gate every year? It was drilled into all of us to die for d jersey but come on, young lads now have a lot more cop on these days!!

I've started to see recently young lads in my own club and surrounding clubs leaving football all together once they finished minor football. Some of these lads would have become good senior club players and would've been on academy panels down through the years. I think 17,18,19 these days are realizing there is more to life than having to give up your summer for a amateur sport.

Dreadful performance tonight. Only 4 Ryan in the 1st half we were bet out d gate. Shouldn't be happening against a poor Waterford side

I think you're having something of an identity crisis there sunshine. We? Unusual for a Sligo supporter to refer to Leitrim as we. Or are you mixing up your user names. But in to the match. Job done should have won by far more. Hopefully we can get revenge on Longford who must be at a low ebb after the pasting they got from Kildare.

Coach Moran and Coach Graham are one out of one in this current competition and we must back them to the hilt. Until they calve against Longford.

Good to win Saturday but performance wasn't great, still butchering goal chances and was worrying how easy Waterford ran through us in the first half. Will have to improve for Longford, while they are at a low ebb they are going to lift their game for us and they have been a bogey team for us for many years, i can never remember us winning in Pearse Park. They were awful against Kildare and if there is anything in them they'll give a huge performance against us and we need to be ready for that.

Exactly. And they will raise their game for us after the hiding Kildare gave them.

We will see I think Leitrim to win by 5 points at least

Don't think you'll get too many here being that confident. Lost by 6 points to them 2 and a half months ago.

I do remember us winning in Longford during PJ Carroll's time in the pouring rain but don't think we've managed it since

Big congratulations to the ladies team. Still winning silverware and punching above their weight. Well done and best of luck in the All Ireland series.

Can anybody confirm is Paddy Dowd managing in the County again? I heard from a cousin of mine in Clonguish that he was? Hasn't had much success in the County but I think he was managing the Longford Ladies for a spell.
