HL Div 5: Kilmessan Elites go down fighting

Under the management of Darren Plevin and Andrew Keena Kilmessan’s 3rd’s trailed at the break 1-6 to 0-6.

The joint managers assembled an elite bunch of lads from past and present. Some declared they hadn't played in 14years, others hadn't played in up to 4 years ago. 

Players like, Eoin Jack Keoghan, Lorcan Keoghan, Andrew Smith, Andrew Keena, Peter Reynolds and the ould man of the group Mark Reilly who was introduced as a sub in a pair of boots that would talk to you. 

The well known referee proceeded to pull tape off hurleys to try and fix up his size 10’s. But when they only lasted a few minutes he shouted to the line. Richie Donnelly came to his rescue and donated his right boot so ‘Red’ could finish out game.

County Board Secretary Ciaran Flynn claimed he played his last game of hurling in 2010 started at full forward, was substituted, but after a short rest found the energy to come back on and finish out the game.
